I noticed that this amp doesn't have an XLR record out. I am thinking of getting it, but what would be my alternatives for recording other than mic'ing it. I don't want to mic it unless I absolutely have to. Suggestions? (I'm not a tech guy, as you can see, lol...

You can also use a dummy load (like an attenuator)with a line out, not sure how good the quality will be though.

Or would it be cheaper to just get a good condenser mic and go from there?

Even a cheaper condenser mic would have better recording value than direct output imho.
