Well we got the band together finally. Currently they're a 3 piece hardrock band and have been playing together for about a month now. My brother Miles (guitar) and his friend Ollie (bass) have been writing songs together for about a year now and now that they actually have a drummer for regular rehearsals it's all coming together nicely.

I had them booked into a professional studio for rehearsals this weekend (studio comes with hire of some very nice stacks) and they sound good. I happen to know Miles is getting a Les Paul for his birthday next month, we've got some good prices on stacks lined up, and I just got my van back on the road. Almost ready to do some gigs.

So for their roadmanager thinking ahead the next question is how to protect the gear in transit. I've already got a set of cases for a 5pc drumkit + cymbals but the prices for roadcases for amp heads and quadboxes are pretty high. I'm looking to carry an 8X10 bass cabinet + head, a Randall G2 200W hybrid, and 1-2 4X12 quads. All these items are pretty damned solid, but it would be nice to have them nicely boxed up so they can get knocked around in the back, and can be more easily stacked and moved.

Anyone ever make a set of flight cases for a guitar stack? I figure by the time I have to drive all this stuff to gigs, I can be finished making the cases for it.

it must be like takinfg a coffin, whatevers inside will have to be secured, padded andthen securly locked

you shoudl make it using either a really hard wood or something a bit more synthetic, with padding on the inside

I'm just gonna throw some bullshit thing at you that I'm pulling out of my arse;

Maybe just get some thick wood, measure the dimensions and then get making.

Or perhaps eBay? Meh, screw it. I'll eBay some cases for you since I'm a nice person with too much time on his hands.

Bare in mind some of these are Aussie links;

Whole store, I'll look at America now;

American store, very decent and cheap.
