He's playing some kind of Ibanez RG, and he isn't using any effects, just a fairly high gain lead tone...nothing out of the ordinary.

id say a better guitar first :s im using some cheap apollo ddf..
dunno really how people can get sounds like those, is it guitar or amp that matters so much ? or both, but which one the most

It's the amp by a country mile, the guitar will dictate some of the character of the sound but when your playing with that kind of gain then it doesn't make a whole lot of difference.
