I've been reading tab from a new tab book i got and i've came across the term "grace notes". Can somebody pls tell me what they are and how to play them on guitar. Thanks

is it labeled as... |--5--(5)--| ... or something like that? That usually means to sustain the first note for twice as long.

It's a note that doesn't have to be played, they're usually written slightly smaller, and maybe in parentheses. They're just little accent notes that you only play if you can, but you don't have to.

grace notes are pretty much just notes that happen before the actual beat.
