I'm thinking of getting some EMG's for my Les Paul Special. Its a gibson flat top LP. Will the EMG's fit in the existing humbucker routes OK? I thought I read somewhere that the EMG routes were slightly different. Any help is appreciated.

I don't think any Gibson LP is flat-top... Is it an LP junior? Or an Epiphone Les Paul Special 2?

i believe it is the same, itll fit in any normal humbucker space, the only issue is where to put the battery..thats usually the issue, but people are usually able to throw the battery in the already routed space for the tone/volume pots,

If you have a Special II, you'll have room in the control cavity for your battery. Theres tons of room in there.
