i just picked up a lectrolab r400c for this one guy and he guessed it to be 6 or 7 watts. It has two 12ax7's pre, one el84 power, and one 6ca4 rectifier. how can i figure out the wattage on an amp by the tubes it contains??? is 6 or 7 accurate?

Look at it this way- everyone rags on air guitar here because everyone can play guitar. If we were on a lawn mower forum, air guitar would be okay and they would ridicule air mowing.

That tube is anywhere from 5 to 17 watts 17 watts with 300 volts going to it..

If you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for it? the reviews on HC said they would have paid big bucks for it (like $1000) hang on to it..
