What difference does the action of your strings make? one of my friends had a noticebly higher action than mine, it seemed like wide vibrato and bending was easier, but can someone clear this up?
Oh **** I gotta do vibrato

jazz players(for example) might like a higher action. easier to ring out notes, less chance a high fret might choke a note dead.
tho a higher action can make it harder for fast runs.

ive got some acoustics i leave higher.

Alot of shredders like low action for the ease of play. The only downside to me is bending on low action the strings get in the way badly.. I always shoot for a happy medium.
