The Callus on my second finger has formed a groove that lasts constantly. It's only barely a groove during the day but once I start playing guitar at night (about an hour a night), the groove deepens quickly (presses down into my fingertip) and although it does not hurt, it makes it impossible to play some chords. The string goes up into that groove while the taller area of finger on either side (also callus) hits the fretboard. I hope I'm describing this in a way that makes sense.

I posted this once before but didn't get much help so I'm hoping for some tonight. Someone suiggested to play on a different part of the fingertip but that doesn't work as the groove is wide enough (due to 6E and A string play) that trying to hit the string anywhere else just wouldn't make any sense.

Thanks for any help...this is driving me crazy.
