i need to know what kind of mic i need to buy to be used for micing my amp and my acoustic for recording (possibly some vocals). I don't know if i should get a condenser mic, a dynamic mic, or the high performance mics....i just want the one that would sound the best recording wise....so if you could help it would be greatly appreciated...

edit: Suggestions would be appreciated

I just posted the same thread a few days ago, if you're willing to spend the money the SM57 was the unanimous choice from everyone who posted.

actually the sm 57 wouldn't be the best for recording if you're going to want to do vocals. a condenser mic would be better. i use a usb mxl mic through my mac into garage band and it works much better than the sm 57 which i also have. if you were only using the electric amped up I would definately say the 57, but definately not for vocals, and the acoustic will sound better with the condenser

well most likely i wont be using it for vocals as in that i dont sing, i just really need the recording quality
