John Lennon circa 1966. I don't use any effects other than fuzz and overdrive, both of which I've got covered, and the only gear I'd like is a really high end Casino and a nice Vox. I'd basically want his because it's a nicer version of my current rig.
Listen to mah discs.

John Petrucci, no doubt. He runs like, 6 mesa boogie heads at once. Not to mention his immense pedal board.

I'd say country or bluegrass would be pretty difficult, for being inbred is a pre-requisite

With his pedalboard of death how could you go wrong. You can either have ninjas slahing peoples faces open, or Micheal Angelo Batio coming down from the ceiling killing people with his four-in-one guitar.

I wouldn't want the gear, I could always buy that. I'd want the skillzors. Gilbert's, Becker's, or Friedman's most of all. Amott's guitar's my favourite out of all. I guess anyone with a nice ESP and a good amp would do.

im bringing this post back to life

radiohead - john frusciante - mutemath - queens of the stone age - angels and airwaves - silversun pickups

a mixture of all of those bands effects and pedals and guitars and amps, would be the best mixture to have

Buckethead or Peter Frampton, frampton has a les paul with 3 pickups and a talk box(awesome sounding setup) and Buckethead's les paul has a crapload of mods, and ive seen pictures of his effects spread all over the stage.(Like 15 in a row)
My setup specs:

Guitars: Fender 50's stratocaster
Old jr accoustic crap guitar.

Amp: Roland cube 20x (Going to probably be traded in for a blues jr soon though.)

Effects: Dunlop gcb-95 wah
Boss dd-6 delay

I'd say Emppu Vuorinen from Nightwish, back when he was using washburns and had a gorgeous tone, not now when he's using ESPs which imo ruin his sound.
