^agreed!

My two cents--

Any early Ramones song (Blitzkreig bop is stupidly easy)

"Peaches" by the Stranglers is a fun easy bassline as well.

In the press of every kiss
With your head upon my chest

Where I will annoy you
With every waking breath
Until you, decide to wake up

Anthem Part II by blink-182. The whole song is easy and it has a few unique simple bass solos that a beginner should be able to nail with relative ease. Plus its just an awesome song.

Social Distortion has some -very- simple basslines.

I can NOT believe I'm the first person to suggest Seven Nation Army. I don't know for sure whether it was actually recorded with a bass or not, but whatever; it can be played on a bass.

Yeh, seven nation army is easy on bass but I don't think white stripes has bass in any of their songs.
