home studios, and all.....is the career still alive and kickin?
Yes, though, barely.
It is a growing industry, but the want of doing is it increasing faster, so it's hard to get into.
well mainly i like soundteching and doing system installs and stuff like that....im good at it but there is alot i dont know .... i was thrown behind the soundboard at church with very few instructions and learned mainly through trial and error....and my brother and his ex band mate came and did an install on a brand new kickin yamaha system in our church and i got to see 3/4's of the work and ask alot of ?s bc they do it professionally...my bros a certified electrician but didnt go to school learned in USMC and the other dude went to school and then has been doing it for like 20 years...so my interest for this has kicked up lately....any other career suggestions maybe?
I was into music engineering and producing for awhile. Its really rewarding but being self employed makes it extremely hard because people will question your talents and gear. Try and go solo and look for a job with a recording company, even if its just a local thing its still a blast.
