This is the intro to one of my songs called, "The Glow". It's still very rough structure-wise, I had to use the mic-input on my laptop instead of a true recording set-up and I had to use a drum machine since my drum kit isn't with me. However, I still think this is close to what the intro may end up being. Please give critiques, especially on whether you think it's catchy and attention-grabbing. Thanks in advance!

its kinda tough to judge it on like 18 seconds worth, but id say that would work fine as an intro. it sounds kinda bloc party, in a good way. get it down with a good recording setup and it should sound great, keep it up. mind giving my stuff a listen?

Nice and jazzy, love it! If you had a smooth singer over that, you would have a great song there.

what did you use to make the drum track?

I didn't make the beats myself, I simply used the built in drum machine loops in my Korg Pandora PX4D, a headphone amp. It's great for portability, but I hate using it to record because the tone is really lacking. I have a copy of Guitar Rig 2 that makes recording heavenly, but I had to format my computer and my installation disk is about 300 miles away.

It's awesome to see these replies! I was testing out the waters with the intro, and it's gotten some really positive reviews so far. If enough people want to hear the full song, please post that you do.
