hi i need some help i dont know what to use (from around the house) to clean my guitar neck. its maple and im not sure if i can use a damp facewasher/washcloth (watever non-aussies call them) do i use tissues or what? also what would be a big no-no ?

id say the best way is to take all the strings off, get a wet rag, and wipe it. Also theres this one oil stuff u can get at ur local guitar store for the wood

or if u can get some string cleaner i heard it cleans the fret bord as well as the strings.

dont take all the strings off because of the sudden change in tension the neck could warp

use pledge + Q tips to clean it with

I jsut read an article on this in Guitar Edge. Maple and ebony/rosewood have different ways to clean...

You have a maple so...

Take all the strings off, then wipe down with a warm, slightly damp, soft cloth. Wipe t down using a dry, soft cloth to remove moisture.

For maple, DO NOT:
scrub hard...the laquer will come off...
use lemon oil...use standard guitar polish
