Hi all.

I want to replace my KORG AX1500G FX unit for some single foot switches to improve my tone. Im looking for:

Phaser
Flanger
Chorus
Wah
Echo
Reveb (possibly)
Pitch Shifter (eventually)
Talk Box (eventually)

Any suggestions would be good! Just getting an idea of prices at the mo so i haven't got a budget yet. True bypass would be preferabe too .

Thanks

Ash

yea they're kinda expensive but really great
analog effects, most with true bypass

you should save up and get them instead of cheaper (probably bad) digital effects

EHX is kind of expensive, but those are really nice pedals. I personally prefer the MXR phase 90 and Flanger to the EHX versions. If you do want to get a Phase 90 or Flanger, check Ebay for the original MXR pedals. The reissues do not compare to the originals in terms of sound quality.
For the chorus, take a look at the Visual Sound H2O. It has the best chorus I have ever heard. You might not like that pedal though, it also has a (weak) delay built in. Only 800ms of delay so its really not comparable the DD-3 or DD-3, but it gets the job done for any kind of classic rock echo/delay.
The rest of that list hendriko gave you is very nice. Just try out as many different brands and models as you can, find the one you like best. Check Ebay for some good deals too, theres usually some good stuff on there.

Phaser: Phase 90
Flanger: Boss BF-3 or MXR flanger
Chorus: Any boss one, EHX small clone or MXR stereo chorus
Wah: what ever fits you
Echo: Boss DD-3 or DD-6
Reveb EHX Holy Grail
Pitch Shifter Boss one maybe

Strictly speaking effects don't improve your tone - if it's bad they won't make it any better, but bad effects, or more correctly bad use of effects can ruin a good tone. What amp are you using at the mo - that's the most important thing when it comes to your tone.

You should get together with this guy, and see if you can't work something out.

I think you're the one on the right track. I'm big on EHX, myself, along with a Vox wah. Buy quality the first time, that would be my advice.

if u get a phase 90 for phaser, and an EHX holy grail for reverb, u got the good sound.

save up for the good stuff rather than buying crappy stuff because its cheap and then returning/selling it because it has a crappy sound

Don't buy all of this stuff at once. You may find that just a couple good effects will work well. Something like a line 6 MM-4 will take care of flanger, chorus, and phaser, and then all you need is a wah and a delay.

I intend to keep my KORG for a backup, just in case so i wouldn't want to swap/ sell it. But thanks anyway.

I have an ENGL screamer 50 with a framus 212 v30 loaded cab. I will also be looking into a new guitar, either a Fender USA strat or a PRS CE.

Thanks very much guys I'll look into EXH and get my self set up soon. Ill also look into the other pedals you mentioned.

Cheers.

Ooooohhhh....nice

Definitely want some decent stuff then, EHX is as good a place to start as any.

If you don't wish to use all chorus, flange and phase at once....

I'd quite recommend a Marshall Regenerator

played one whilst on working experience in a music shop, sounded rather nice

Yeah they sell them where I work, but they are digital I think.

I would get one but im scared it will sap my tone as much as my Korg did... unless anyone can tell me otherwise...?
