G'day,

Just came back from the shed messin around with a guitar im currently building with a question,

Does it matter How far apart the pickups are from the bridge, or the space between the neck and the pickups/bridge? i thought it wouldnt matter but thoughts its best just to try so i dont mess it up.

thanks fellas (n sheilas)

Alright, at the moment im just going off an old guitar i had sitting around, using its spacing etc. its based on a fairly new ashton (dunno what model.) so if i want a richer tone should increse the distance or something like that?

any help would be great thanks.

http://www.stewmac.com/fretscales Here's an article about scale length.

As for pickup placement, the closer they are to the 12th fret, the more bassy the tone will be. The farther from the 12th fret, the more trebely the tone will be.
