Ibanez RG's have great upper fret access. Also, like stated, so do V shaped guitars, just be sure to check because alot of V's have 22 frets.

Most Ibanez's have great upper fret access thanks to the neck joint.

As has been stated, Vs with 24 frets will have almost unlimited access.
It's true, this stuff I make up.

oh and the jackson sl1 soloist is heel-less so it should have literally unlimited upper fret acess, and btw V's upper fret access depends on where the heel starts and how big the heel is. I have a V, and if i had smaller fingers, i'd be screwed.

I'd imagine a guitar with 36 Frets, like a Conklin, would have supreme 24th fret access, as its only about 3/4 up the neck...

My schecter c-1 classic. It's a breeze to play in the upper register. It actually feels the same as if you were playing up the 12th fret, it's that amazing.

schecters have pretty good upper fret access and aren't that expensive.

The Laney Thread are big and clever. No exceptions.

Alot of Vs actually have poor access, and RG shapes are safe but this beats everything I've seen:

Caparison Orbit. Yes that's 27 frets, and yes that cutaway pwns.
Quest for "the tone": pending.

I played my mate's Epiphone SG the other day, and it has way better high-fret-access than I expected! No doubt there are better, but it's still pretty good.

Most people on UG are teenage boys who think that the only way they can assert their 'dominancy' is by making others feel low and bossing them around. More than likely in real life they are subject to bullying.
True?

i'm probably going to get flamed for this, because this suggestion looks grotesque:

Danelectro Longhorn :P

yeah they look nasty, and i wouldn't be seen playing one in public, but they are pretty good guitars. they sound like a fender strat only better (well that's debatable). edit: and the old ones had 30 or so frets, so if you can get an original...

on the subject of danelectro, i will also say the '56 Pro. take a look at that for upper fret access. (not).
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

Washburn has made guitars in the 80's with 36 fret necks. i believe asmodi has one.

anyways, a Washburn X50 or X40 will be a great guitar for you.

whats your price range?

You don't argue with tubadude on Washburn-related matters, he flosses with the G string from a set of 0.12's y'know....and it's WOUND!
