i cant tell the diference(ecxept for volume) between my mp cranked with my weber attenuator or without. it does a really good job of keeping the tone. i cant imagine the hot plate being much better, let alone worth the price.

I've heard they're both great.

But I'm most likely going to get a Weber considering everyone is giving that attenuator so much praise.

^I hear that's not the best way to go; cheaper, etc.

I hear that you need an attenuator that's atleast 1.5x your amp's wattage...just from what I hear.

ya 1.5xs is necessary. your power rating is rms, and thats measured before the amp breaks up. when you dime it, your getting more power output. i would assume if your getting an attenuator its because you want to dime it, so ya, get it 1.5x's.
