That sucks that you need a licsence...bleh...where i live you ALWAYS see a busker at the liquor store, only making like...20 bucks or so. but hey, i'd do that for fun and the money!

what i would think for songs to play are Swing life away by Rise Against [if your using an acoustic] or Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Yeah, you need a license (if your in the UK). If you dont the police come and move you on. Theres also different rules and things in different counties. I know in Oxford Ive heard you have to audition to get your license. Otherwise, play songs that people know of and that can connect with people. They're more likely to listen. Also remember to play well. I'd help more but Ive never busked before.

Do it around Christmas. Get some friends, play Silent Night a hundred times, make £20 an hour if you're good.

nah, im gonna try my 1st time this summer in Ocean City, MD on the boardwalk. because, really, thats what inspired me to become a guitar player(seeing these 2 dudes playing, and they were really good, and they had about 100 dollars and they got 4 hot ass chicks )

Where I live, in Cambridge, you don't need a license to busk. The only rules are:

1.) If you can be heard over 30 metres away, you're too loud.
2.) You can only play in the same place for an hour, then you have to move.

No rules here.

I say, play the classics, stuff people will relate to.

And make people thing you're talented, like fret the strings with your hand aobve the neck instead of being below it.

Stuff like that.

But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race toward an early grave.

EDIT: I know you need to get a daily permit to do that. Its like $10.

Once, after England won the rugby world cup, I played Swing low sweet chariot (which was England's song, you could say) and I made 150£ in the process.

noones bothered about the license.

my advice is learn stuff from tons of different styles, because not everyone listens to the same bands.
