I play alot of, Pantera, A7x, cob, tool, Stevie ray vaughn, alot of metal, and some blues, but mostly really thrashy metal and harcore.

Marshall Jcm 900, or the Peavey 5150. What are some good suggestions.

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

EDIT: Wait, no, sorry didn't see the SRV. Out of those two, I say the JCM900

Well, SRV is the one thing that takes me to the JCM900, a 5150 or 6505 is better for everythign else in my opinon.

JCM900's run about 1200 USD new. (I think)

And honestly, I have no idea what EVH means.

5150 is the same as the 6505, just van halen stopped endorsing them and he had rights to the name 5150 so they changed it to 6505

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

The 6505 will do those metal tones you need with no problem at all, but will be lacking in the cleans area.

The 6505 is 120 all tube. If you buy it, you will never need another amp in your life to be louder.

Ever.

The 2x12 combo runs about 1200 USD, while the head runs about 1100 USD. Obviously, the combo is a much better value.

There isn't a 4x12 combo of the 6505.

If you wanted a 4x12, you would have to buy the 1100 dollar head, and then a 500 dollar cab to go with it.

Or you could just spend 100 dollars extra for the combo and be fine.

While a stack may look a lot cooler, it isn't really going to outperform the 2x12.

EDIT: Ah, the Combo is 60 watts. Which is still louder than you will ever need to be, undoubtedly.
