how would i play this? would i just mute the strings? i tried and it doesnt sound right at all.

Just mute the strings and strum. You can mute with your right or left hand, or both if you prefer. Depends on the sound you're looking for.

don't press any frets down, just take your hand, and put it over the strings. (without pressing down)

then just pick those three strings.

It's like how "voodoo child" starts. except without the wah added in.

Yeah mute the strings and you would get an E chord. Not sure of the name though

They are notes, it's just almost impossible to measure the pitch so we say they aren't. All noises have a pitch.

Haven't got a clue where he got E from, but whatever.

if he's playing the other three string he gets an E. i assume he would be playing them why else would you just mute three strings instead of all of them

Silly people. He's not playing the other strings (notice the lack of fret numbers...). He's just doing a muted strum across those three strings.
