LIST OF SONGS IN ORDER OF DIFFICULTY

I accidently deleted A-C in the Beginning of the list. I'm sorry, I'll try to find those missing songs sometime.

Rules/Questions?

Submitting Songs

If you submit songs, PLEASE try to keep the bands in alphabetical order. It saves me a bit of work and time. Also, if you submit songs and not tell me the difficulty it won't be added to the list. If you tell me that something like "Band - Song (Not sure what difficulty, easy or intermediate). It won't be added.

Song you submit not on the list?
It's a mistake or you didn't submit it correctly. PM me with a link to your post and your
submission will be added ASAP.

A song you feel not in the right place or an error?
PM me with the problem and I'll fix it.

I'd love for this thread to be stickied but the mod wouldn't allow it because he said we already have a song list for bass beginners. I see people linking to this thread for people asking for songs, I REALLLLLY appreciate that. I love to know you guys are making great use of the thread too.

Wasn't this thread from a long, long time ago? Like, say, 03-08-2007, 09:12 AM? What happened to all the responses? What's going on? HELP!!! *drowns*

I guess I'll re-add my suggestion.

Expert, Dream Theater - Dark Eternal Night (needs 5 string, it's obvious why this one would be expert.)

and not to steal on someone elses idea but I seen someone suggested Living Colour - Cult Of Personality, and I seen that wasn't on the list either, so I'd like to suggest that one. I personally think it's Intermediate due to the odd string skipping and the frequent change in and out of 3/4.

Are you people even reading the posts? They were deleted because I ran out of room on the first post... I'm going to say it one more time as well, if you think there's a problem with the placing of a song PM me about it.

Oh man, now my playing just confuses me...I can't play some songs from the easy list...but can then go and play stuff from the hard list gah!

So find a different song, It's not that hard.

What's the problem with putting corrections in the thread? If you're scanning through for new songs anyway, then it saves you effort checking your PMs.

Nothing to Gein should be Intermediate, or possibly hard, due to stupid amount of time sig changes, and popped double stops.

Because I get a lot of people saying "I think this shouldn't be in hard" or "I think this might be intermediate or easy". I'd rather get a PM from people who really want a serious change in the thread.

So because I didn't PM you, I'm not being serious?

It's easier to post in the thread, I guarantee you that most people with serious rectifications will post in the thread, like I have.

+1

And while we're at it, "Jerry Was a Racecar Driver" by Primus is NOT intermediate. Two hand tapping isn't THAT simple.

... though i've never really tried. it should be at least hard (and even at intermediate you might not have a six string bass, if you're planning on getting one).

You also need 26 frets to play it properly, and not many standard run basses have 26 frets.

Um, regarding Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) by 'tallica, is it really expert? Because I have only been playing 6-7 months, and my bass teacher gave me this about a month ago. And I'm learning it fine.

Easy:
Broken Wings - Alter Bridge
Be Yourself - Audioslave
A Kiss to Send Us Off - Incubus
Demise of Sanity - Black Label Society

and also, Four Horsemen by Metallica could possibly be considered intermediate just based on the speed. some of the parts with the triplets are a bit difficult to play unless you have fast fingers or can alternate pick pretty well.

Suggestions: Easy: The Fratelli's - Flathead

Intermediate: Arctic Monkeys - Brianstorm

I think the difficulties are a bit off, especially Flathead as I couldn't find any good tabs for it.

hmmm, let's get back to the 80's here. joy division had some great easy bass lines... digital, disorder, she's lost control, twenty-four hours, and of course love will tear us apart. and i have to say, the smiths' "this charming man" is a pretty good intermediate bassline, too, as is duran duran's rio.
i am member no. 3 of the 'coheed and cambria fan club' interested? pm CoheedANDnofx6.

It's definitely not expert, but it's a bit above medium. I'd put it in hard, because you really have to be fluid with your hammer-ons and your strumming has to be very precise.
