My band has sorta split recently (well me (any type of guitar you give me or bass) + singer (little musical ability) left) and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a set up...before my band split I was going to get a EHX big muff and MXR phase 90 (there's another thread on that actually), but for this more acoustic set up (still use my firebird and casino - so it's not completely acoustic) I was thinking 'hmmmm...i should probably have a bit more of a think about this...

Anyway I had a think and came up with:

1) I could still use a new distortion (my behringer OD 100 isn't the best) so I've been looking at getting an Boss DS1 just to add a bit of grit to little blues lead breaks and the like. Good idea?

2) Do I really need any other pedals? Would a phaser still be a good addition, or should I look at an EQ (Iprobably should do that anyway), or are any other pedals worth looking into...or should I just not bother and spend my money on something else?

Well, if you say I should get pedals then my budget is about £40 per pedal (I'm saving for a PSP but as long as I get that before uni...)

Bear in mind this is for live playing more than recording and for bluesy/acoustic/indie/alt/classic rockesque music

Cheers

I don't think that an eq will be so necessary, I'd buy a chorus or a reverb to add some space to your sound

The DS1 will give you more grit than you bargain for. It can't do low gain.

Bad idea. If this is all you will need out of the pedal, I would suggest a Boss Blues Driver (BD-2). I think it would be perfect for that situation.

I would look into a delay or reverb pedal.
