Is it safe to do this. I just got both for $730 and I'm wondering if its safe to do or if i should sell the head and get a smaller watt head

well its 75 watts per speaker

and the mode four is like 350 watts? I don't think the speakers could handle it

itll be fine as long as the impedance matches and you dont crank the amp.

No, get a different head.

im assuming he bought the mode four because he liked it, lay off with telling him to get another head, unless he deides he doesnt like the one he has.

Either that, or he bought it because of the name and the wattage, and he hasn't realized his mistake yet.

I tried a Mode Four and it was...
AWFUL! Sounded like an AVT, which means boring and dull sounds.

Id reccomend a new head. What styles do you play?

Well before we go telling him to get a new head, we should make sure he knows what he has.

So my question the the Original Poster is have you tried a lot of other heads in the same price range, and you liked that one best or did you only try that one, or even worse, did you buy it online based on reviews only?

...for the gigs im going to be playing its going to be 60% tone and 40% stage look, and I'd like the look of my rig to be able to back up its sound.

i honestly dont think mode fours are that bad, but then again im not a total tube nazi like 90% of this forum, i tried one and was able to get some usuable metal sounds out of it, its clean sounds where quite lacking however.

the amp isn't bad. i bought it because it was $500 and it retails for like $1500 so i'm gonna sell it and make a few hundreds and buy a jcm900 or 800 or maybe try to get a mesa dual rec.
