I'm currently arguing with this European idiot over why America is not benefiting from the war in Iraq, now he's lecturing me on American politics and economy and criticizing my knowledge of it...

Its really a shame that we can't carry guns on planes or else I would gladly pay this moron a visit

Edit: this retard is now criticizing me on taxes in America! And hes from Denmark....wtf is this.

I like how you criticise his opinions on American politics, and then say how that makes you want to use your right to possess arms and shoot him.

And threadarter, change your sig. Those bannings weren't anything to do with you.

The topic was originally about "Socialism" and then someone brought up how free health care required the taxes to be raised and I said that that is why we'll never have free health care because most people will object to raising taxes, then it led to the Iraq war discussion in which I said its only producing negative effects for America in both politically and economically, then this idiot comes in out of nowhere and starts calling me a dumbass and saying how I'm clueless on how American politics and its economy functions and that its benefitting from the war in Iraq, 15 min into the arguement, I look at his profile and it says "Location: Denmark, About Yourself: Danish all the wayyyy!!!", I was laughing my ass off for the next 2 minutes......

I don't get it, what do you want us to say? It seems you already have your mind made up.
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.

To be honest, in my experience many Americans are clueless about their own politics, you just have to look at your voter turn out to know that. And not only did you (as a nation, not you individually) elect George W Bush as your president, you proceeded to RE-elect him.

The war in Iraq is high profile world wide. There is widely held belief that the war in Iraq is illegal and was only ever started as a means for America to gain control of the Iraqi oil reserves. It's worth pointing out almost ALL the oil currently produced by Iraq since the war began is by American companies, and the majority of the money lines American pockets.

put it this way, even though I live in the UK, I don't know the first thing about our politics... just because you live in a country doesn't make you less ignorant of it than foreigners may be perceived to be... like me... which is silly, I really need to learn some political basics....

and I also think that your American taxes suck.... well, not the taxes themselves, but the system... the way tax gets added at the till when you buy the goods, so you need a blooody calculator with you to work out how much you actually gotta pay

No offence mate, but I'm from the UK and I know about your economy. Don't start criticising him for being Danish and knowing about politics in your country. How much do you know about UK politics?

It doesn't help that it seems like nobody here can even do basic math anymore.

i think the point he's making is that it makes more sense for the price tag to include the tax so you can tell at a glance how much you're actually paying
#17
Uhh the sales tax is certainly not 20%... in Maryland it's a 5% sales tax, and it's not a big deal really... I mean, is not like the cash registers don't calculate it for us, anyway.
#18
might be fuel tax that's 20%.... I dunno, I can't remember the article I was reading about it, and I've thrown that newspaper away since... and it doesn't matter if the cash register does it, I suppose I'd prefer to know exactly how much I'm gonna pay as I shop

The country he comes from is almost entirely irrelevant. It is possible to become an expert on a country's political system without having to experience it for one's self. If you're criticising him simply because you think your opinion is some how more valid simply because you live in the country you're speaking of, I think you're quite silly.
#20
he's probably right, frankly americans are probably the least likely to know whats goin on with their government

and what with the plural in the title, just because your dont like one "european" you suddenly dont like them all

This is ridiculous, this is like a Buddhist trying to teach Christianity~

I don't but I never said I was criticizing any foreigners about their country's politics.

That's an ignorant and false statement.

Granted the average american knows frighteningly little about politics, to say that they don't at least know what's going on with the government is ridiculous.

You know, I'll be one of the first to admit that America is a terrible country when it comes to the policies of the government and the average intelligence of its citizens, but I can't believe how much America-Bashing I've witnessed from the English / British on this site alone. It's sickening. Get over yourselves.
