Okay.. this is basically like the NAME THAT CHORD thread but it can be anything related to theory...

Please wait for the confirmation from either the one who posted it or someone who knows a lot (ie kindje, john, redwing, gpb, etc.)

Well, let's start it!

If you had this chord progression, what chord would you play to resolve??
F#m7 -> B9 -> ???

both are good but damac_uncle posted first so he's gotta post a question now!

(btw, if the person who has the right answer and it was confirmed hasn't posted a new question inside 24hours, someone else may take his spot for keeping the game alive!)

^Double harmonic minor is 1 - 2 - b3 - #4 - 5 - b6 - 7. Phrygian dominant is the name of the scale you posted.

i was just looking for a generic 6/9. but it looks like you are up on all questions oh dominant one

six names??!!! i dont even know if half of these are real chords

CminMaj7
Eb+/6
G+/11
Cmin/b9
Eb/#5
c
Eb+
hmmmm...
#31
C-Δ is correct. Rest are all wrong.

I don't understand your names like Eb/#5. Is that Eb with the #5 in the bass? You don't need to write them like that, Eb+ would have done. Eb+ is close, but no cigar.

The rest are completely wrong.
#32
Cm (maj7) (not sure how you would write it, but that is how you say it)
Gmaj7(dim5)

Can't think of any others

damned jazz questions

ha, i thought so
i'm not really good with this sorta thing but i figured i'd give it a shot

oooh, and how do you make the delta symbol??
hmmmm...

Right now, I can only guess Cmin/maj7, Am9(b5), Gadd11(b6) and Ebmaj6+.

Remotely close, John?

^Yup. C-Δ, Am9b5 (Aø would have done) and EbΔ#5 are all good. The G one is wrong, I don't want a chord with G as the root, because it doesn't define this sound.

3 more. (Brando.. I posted the same kinda thing in the chord thread, maybe you don't remember )

@fenderfrk - I get it from the character map on Windows, I don't know the keyboard shortcut.
#39
Well, doesn't look like anyone is going to get it.. the notes I posted are the characteristic notes of the C melodic minor scale, so all you had to do as name the six chords used in the melodic minor scale. (Not 7, because the V chord, G7 is normally substituted with G7alt from Ab melodic minor).

So the names I wanted were..

C-Δ, Dsusb9, EbΔ#5, F7#11, Aø and B7alt.

It's up for grabs, so whoever wants to go, may.
