i currently have a cruddy Marshall G30R CD. i got it for Christmas, and the tone is terrible.
im taking it back to the store to get $150 credit. then im gunna save some more money to add to that and get a decent amp. its not a guitar center, so it doesnt have that big of a selection, they only have 30 amps or so. (when i was there i think i saw a Marshall jcm, vox advt, roland cube, mg ( ), several crate amps, some fender frontmans, and some other amps i dont remember, etc.) i was looking at a cube 30, and i liked it, but i would like a tube amp. im also on a budget, so i cant spend too much. what would you all recommend. you can recommend anything thats not on the list too. and it needs to be at least 30 watts.

i have been playing the guitar 7 years. i play dragonforce, yngwie malmsteen, steve vai, john petrucci, dream theater, jason becker, lynyrd skynyrd, jimi hendrix, srv, satch, ozzy, van halen, gnr, etc. (metal, 80's, classic rock, progressive, shred)

the probably best all tube amp in that price region would be the fender blues junior
but not for your style of music

definetely try out the vox advt's
they're pretty decent and should get you the tone you want

Hmm. You mentioned a JCM. If it was an 800, spring for it, by all means. Well, actually any JCM model would do you well, but in particular a JCM 800.

What's your budget? We could be a lot more helpful if we knew what your budget was and what currency.

I suggest a Peavey JSX, because it is extremely versatile, but it could very possibly be out of your price range.

P.s. No bumping.

I suggest getting a peavy, or a fender blues jr. They are good quality tube amps, and they dont cost that much.
it needs more cowbell!
