I've been thinking it over and I really needed something for my orange to boost it up into a thick solo-ing...mode? Anyway, I wanted either a reverb or a delay to do that and I was REALLY considering to get a DMM.

My question about it is....

With the delay effects, I hear it shows of reverb as well... In that case, is it then not worth getting a EH Holy grail?

My other question is...

Considering I play a lot of cleans (And I'm planning to at gigs) A DMM is going to be sort of like a stomp pedal. So will there be a seperate..."stomp button" for the chorus and delay?

Sorry for the confusion, I'm just wondering what would then best suite me...

EDIT: Never mind, I just found out you need to configure it seperately.

Okay, then just answer my first question then; Is it worth it to get the DMM AND the Holy Grail?

You can set up the DMM to create a real nice reverb impersonation. I do it all the time.

Will there be times you want both reverb and delay? That's a reason to get both. The Holy Grail's reverb should be better than the DMM, so that may be another reason to get both.

I'd recommend that you get the DMM, play with it for a while, and see what you think you might need from there. I've got a shitload of pedals, and that one is easily my favorite one. It just does so much. Delay, reverb, chorus, vibrato, clean boost, or insane feedback. I don't feel the need for a reverb pedal, but you'll need to decide for yourself. The DMM serves me in that regard playing with my little amps, and my big amp has better reverb than I'd ever find in a pedal, anyway.

sorry for hijacking your thread but...this question kinda goes hand in hand with your question

how "good" is the chorus on the DMM?
im considering to buy the DMM also...i have the money saved for it
but i want a chorus like the small clone...
would i have to get the small clone also?

The chorus is good, but not as pronounced as the Small Clone. Having said that, I have both pedals, but the Small Clone doesn't get much use since I got the DMM.

yeah i didnt know if you were looking for other options but its a really great pedal, all of the ones VS makes in that line are great (i have the Jekyll and Hyde, also great)

heres a clip of a guy using the Route 66 and the H2O, no chorus in it from what i can tell.

I'd suggest you buy the Memory Man first. If you want something more in a chorus, you can always get the Small Clone later. I bought the SC first and, like I said, it doesn't get much use now that I have the DMM.

I think that single effects are a good idea. EX: person x has the small clone, which coincidentally is a chorus pedal. I have a digitech FX75b flanger, which i can dial in a chorus sound, but it smells of flange, and is a little light. Likewise, the delay will probably smell a little drier than the reverb, and short.

So...

Then what "single" delay unit is there to use that's actually good for a decent price?

sorry for the double post
but
i just realized that the DMM has an output for dry and an output for wet signal
does that mean you can only run it with 2 amps?
and how would i connect it to my amp?

Alright fella's.

Formost, I'mma get the EH Holy Grail...why? Because I wanna, noobz. But seriously, it's because I need that effect more than any other effect considering I wanna make it seem more thick for solo's and all.

So thanks everyone, I'mma still keep the DMM on my second to buy list. Anymore questions about the pedal, just keep it here I guess, until it dies out.

I've got one, it's brilliant.

You've gotta turn the chorus/vibrato knob in order to hear the effect, and you have to switch a switch to change from vibrato to chorus.

The reverb sound you get from the DMM is immense, I use it instead of my amp's reverb, however when I use it there is a bit of delay of course, but you could set the repeat level low.

You really need to play this pedal to hear it's true magic, the repeats sound so natural, it's just brilliant.

I'd still advise you to get the DMM first. I think it'll do what you want it to do, and a whole lot more. And once you get it, you may very well find your Holy Grail to be obsolete. But good luck with whichever way you choose to go.

Alright, thanks for that slats and RHCP.

I'm quite happy to hear that I'll be killing THREE birds with one stone; chorus, delay, reverb (wewt!).

I guess you do have a point there though, slats. I'll try to pick up the DMM then.

I really think it's the best move for you. There's really a good chance you won't even want the Holy Grail after playing with the DMM. Even if you do, you won't regret getting the DMM first!

I've been ignoring the vibrato on the DMM while searching for a vintage Magnatone amp to get a taste of their "true, pitch bending vibrato." Duh! I had it all along on this pedal. I was playing with that effect a bunch last night (I love that psychedelic blues sound). It's great. Thick and lush.
