I bought the kind that comes with 3 bits and worked on my guitar. The results were amazing, my guitar sounded so much better (agile al3000 lp copy).

That was a good investment.

whats a fret crowning tool?

/noob question
Soon you will sit on the bench
of those who deny I have my soul
You sell a dream you create
Condemned by what you condemned before
Smooth are the words you sing down and high
Underground is your joy your laws

I've been practicing leveling, crowning, and polishing frets on some cheaper guitars. Its fun and it really does help a lot. I wish that I would have bought one of those tools before I started. I probably will get one before I do any work on my nicer axes.

The fret crowning tool rounds the top of the frets restoring the narrow fret-string contacts and intonations.

It's a good thing I bought this tool, I estimated my fret size wrong and the biggest of the bits was my size, not the middle one.
