Pretty sweet band, I'm just not in the mood for this kind of stuff now. I'll check them out again later though.

They're pretty good, I got into them when they released Deviant Current Signal. It's nowt too special, but it's not bad.

Thats not pubic hair if that's what you are wondering.

And stay on topic please.

But I agree matt85210, Gojira and Hacride are both very superb and unique bands and they both come from France.

You should also check out Yyrkoon, I have a big liking for them at the moment.

yyrkoon gojira and hacride own they're currently my favorites (don't like american bands for some reason)
#11
yer french metal is breaking through hugely right now.
I've seen gojira live twice now, probz my fave band, hacride are a very close second, can't wait til they eventually tour the UK, another french band, dagoba!!!!! incredible, much simpler riuffs than hacriode but still better than most bands
Learning scales?
I've got: (tabbed in pro)
Major Scale, Pentatonic Major Scale

That Perturbed video is pretty damn cool. Need to give this band a serious listen.

Sweet christ, Hacride tear me a new arsehole each time I listen. Brilliant. They're recording at the mo.

Totally unrelated to them being french.

Alright, I'll give them a try, Japanese Black Speed rarely disappoints.

Hmm judging from your pic you'd fit in more with a fat busted tribute.
#15
Has it leaked?

*searches frantically*

All I've heard is the 10 minute track on myspazz.

It's times like these I love getting promo discs.

This is the best album of 2009 so far.

A website just got the guitarist and main writer to explain the new album track by track. It's in french. If I'm feeling kind I might translate it and post it here later.

Seriously this band is amazing, just got into them
I can't really understand their lyrics though so I wonder if they're in english or not, I can't find them through google either.

The lyrics? Have you tried darklyrics.com?

That's the site I usually go to. This band reminds me of Gojira.

No, they got nothing on darklyrics.com

Hmm...that's lame. Do they publish the lyrics in their album booklet? That seems like the only way, if they do in fact do that...you could just ask here if they do. Someone would probably have the lyrics.

new album =

i got excited from the review on the front page. i listened. too much filler, nothing memorable. it was almost like trying to listen to a dream theater album, except dream theater usually has something i can remember, like half a song. the previous hacride album, however...
#25
The new album, from the 3-4 songs I've heard, is unknockable, mate. Melody, groove, brutality, everything.
#26
amazing talent and musicianship in lazarus (and all of their albums of course), no doubt about that. but i just listened to it a second time and i honestly only have detailed memory of one riff. it just doesnt hold my attention like amoeba does. i havent heard anything before that, though.

This one isn't about the riffs though, it's about how they lock in as a whole. Plus the keyboardy bits give it a lot of texture which I wish other bands could pull off better rather than doing terrible solos with them.
#29
I absolutely love Lazarus, one of the best albums of 2009. Should I get Amoeba next I presume?

Definitely. Haven't heard the first, but I'm told it's nowhere near as good. From what I've heard it's all the more Meshuggah-y bits of Amoeba without much of the interesting stuff.

I'm still pissed off that I missed them headlining at the Purple Turtle.

And suddenly out of nowhere it's a bump.

So, Awakening is a ****ing sweet song and the softer, creepy sounding palm muted riff in it is the best ever. Discuss.

Gotta love Zambra, was a bit confused when I first heard it

Loving Amoeba, not as good as Lazarus but pretty damn good.

Bump because Lazarus has clicked massively with me this week, and so I'm quite addicted

I mean, I always liked it, but it really just became a whole lot better for some reason.

Lazarus is a great great album. Especially To Walk Among Them, so good.
Cette nuit j'ai rêvé que je mâchais ses yeux
Après avoir crevé par accès de furie
Ta replète panse d'helminthes blancs nourrie,
Trop prompte à déféquer le fruit d'un vit sanieux.
