Its most noticed during softer parts and breaks, adds another layer of atmosphere

It's mostly percussion, right?

Haven't listened to rosetta or intronaut.

Either way, neurosis have consistently amazing albums

From their third onwards is pretty much the best music ever, so yeah.

I think the amount of passion and emotion that Neurosis put into their music is what sets them apart from all other bands.
#86
They manage to switch it up a lot for having the same lineup.

Like a reverse king crimson

Rosetta - The Galilean Satellites
Rosetta - A Determinism of Morality
Intronaut - Void
Intronaut - Prehistoricisms

I like TGS and DoM a tiny bit more than wake/lift.

Hahaha. Whatever.

Also, Valley of Smoke will destroy all of intronaut's discography, I'm calling it right now. The new songs they played live were just so well put together and their overall sound got a lot better since I saw them last year.

I picked up 'Null' a little while back. It was much heavier that I expected.

Switching gears a little, I just saw that Neurosis will be re-issuing 'Enemy of the Sun' (my favorite Neurosis record) in a couple weeks. Anyone know if it will be at all different from the current version aside from the artwork?

No love for Souls at Zero?

He's including Souls At Zero since he said "From the third, onwards".

Thank you for mentioning this, as they never seem to update their sites. I guess I'm gonna have to plan a trip to Maryland.

TOG without Grace now sounds hollow to me.

....you might say, its shell is hollow.

They're all different playing times... I'm guessing the listener instructed to start one, wait for a minute or so, start the next on sync, wait, start the third, etc. Crazy.

I'm pretty sure you start them at the same time and then they finish at different times, but I don't know for sure.

Assuming you do have to start them all at the same time, it is incredibely impractical.
Dyer's Eve is awesome, and has an abnormally large penis, which doesn't act as any hinderance to his everyday life despite its freakishly large size.

Well, they should stop fvcking with my wallet, and release albums in full surround sound like normal well-adjusted bands do.

I think that there is some use in having the four different direction, I mean, you can only mix an album in two, so they obviously wanted to add the extra dimension into their sound.

I'd need to listen to the album to judge properly.
#114
that sounds really cool, but how the hell would someone have the means of playing something from 4 different places at the same time, and then matching up playing 4 things at the exact same time sounds impossible.

And so was Precambrian.

Psh, I'm way better than him.

It just hasn't really caught on with me, there are parts I really enjoy, like To The Wind, but I don't end up listening to Neurosis very often.
