Hey there everyone, just decided I want to get a pedal, but not sure which kind/brand to get, I'm willing to spend up to about 80$ or so, I have a Vox AD15VT amp, and it has alot of cool little things on it, so whatever would work good with it, I like distortion, but that's cuz im not sure of what else there is out there, any recomendations would be great!

I take the strings off before I smash my guitars. I usually go through about 2 a week. It's mad fun.

Yeah, what jess said. First let us know what sorta band's you like and style you'd be more willing to lean to. And i'm sure you'll get alot more response's. I'd save the $80 and get like one of those huge boss boards. Then you'd have alot to mess with.

i'd suggest a dunlop crybaby, its pretty cheap and is a great wah pedal.

60 bux, can't beat it. And it's the most popular wah pedal, and easiest to use, since the on button is under the pedal, you just press it down.

Alright cool, thanks everybody that cleared alot up!

vox clyde mccoy...but thats a bit more pricey than what you want to spend. So I'm gonna say a Vox 847, still more but not as much. They're probably around $100
#14
i hate my $100 dunlop crybaby classic w/ fasel inductor.
its a major tone sucker.
that's why i like vox better

dont get the crybaby
it may seem cheap
but there's a reason its that cheap - it used crappy parts

get the vox...it sounds like a wah should sound like
and its not that much either...$100
but you get a way better sound out of it

Sounds like Vox is the way to go, I'm happy with the amp I have of them, so I'm sure their wah pedals will be of just as great quality.

No, it just doesn't have all the shit other pedals have. It does a wah, it doesn't have the tone changers, but some do. You'll also notice the Vox has around the same price, but hardly any artist use it. Zakk uses it, and he's been in the buisness a lot longer than any of us, and if it would have broken a lot on him, I don't think he would have used it for so long.

Sorry, I clicked wah/volume section, and didn't read it thourly(sp?) and just put the price. They only pedal they have is twice the price.

As far as clapton, the vox will sound one way, crybaby sounds another, I know the crybaby can take a lot more brutalizing, because clapton babies his pedals, and Zakk doesn't.
Clapton also claims to be able to tell the difference between nuclear and hydro power in his amps...

depends on what you want
i chose the v847...
the v847 is the vintage vox wah
and the v848 sounds a little more vocal

i'd say get the updated v847A in april
has the same features as the v848
and sounds almost the same

Alright cool thanks for that. I'll definately go for the vintage, not much of vocals by myself. I play alone and stuff, not much friends play guitar, as much as I do at least. So now I know what to do.

Then I would personally get the cheaper one, and use the money on more pedals. Youre not playing live, if you don't sound perfect, who's gonna know? And if you do, who's gonna care? That money can be invested elsewhere.

This is a bunch of people who can't afford it personally and are living vicariously through you.
#36
well
what i meant is that the wah sound the clyde makes sounds a little more as when a human would actually say "wah"
the clyde is what jimi used though

but the v847 has that vintage wah sound to it
and can handle jimi too
and page, and clapton...all those...guitarists

Alright, yeah I play by myself, and only people who hear me are friends and family, I like to just goof around and play whatever, or make up my own stuff, so I'll probably get whatevers cheaper and sounds cooler and gives me good variety. Thanks a bunch, now I just gotta wait, any ideas for pedals?
