I wanted to do a thrash metal contest
i dont know if someone's interested though.
If anyone wud like to do it let me know

its only the old bands like GNR, Metallica, Pantera, Iron maiden, sepultura, slayer and bands like that

No fking emo bands, or fking nu-metal or any of those shits. Pure metal, the metal that started all the metal. if u know what i mean, bands from 80's and 90's...so let me know if anyone's interested.

My entry wud probably be
Master of Puppets
fade to black
fear of the dark

i seriously hope you're joking. If you couldn't tell that i was joking when i suggested billy talent, then you have no sense of humour.

Hmm thrash metal was spawned of hardcore punk, and the NWOBHM,
the biggest scene of thrash started in the bay area with bands like Slayer,
Exodus, Metallica, Death Angel and a bit later Megadeth. It takes roots from
speed metal, but making it faster and more agrressive blah blah blah.
I'm one of the only ones that mentioned thrash metal, because my cover is
played like Metallica's cover of Blitzkrieg. The original was of the NWOBHM,
but mines in thrash stylings. Woooooo. I win.

Pantera and GnR and Iron Maiden are thrash?

GnR is a definate no for thrash. Pantera's Domination is pretty thrash, but they're more heavy metal than anything. Iron Maiden's Be Quick or Be Dead is about the only song I've heard from them that's close to being thrash. I dunno, just a little lost here.

I'd go with Kreator or Exodus or Megadeth or Sodom or Destruction for my Thrash Nominees.
The Gear.
Jackson DX10 Variation.
Fender 165watt

To be in possesion of:

Would a modified version of the Mechanix for bass work? It's a blend of Cliff's and Ellefson's part.

I will enter with 4 Whom the bell tolls by metallica. Is it ok if my backing track has the harmony guitar parts in it or what.

Hmm well not too much of this is totally true.
Thrash was about the furiocity and speed of punk, though influenced, not directly spawned.
and NWOBHM from the bay area? ahahahah do you know what NWOBHM means?
New Wave Of British Heavy Metal.
yeah, british.
the bay area was directly influenced by the NWOBHM, bands like Iron maiden and such.
and yeah those are a few good bands, but speed metal was just another name for thrash in the 80s, though it has different meaning today.
so, close, but no, you do not win.
