i know recommendation threads arent well-liked and sort of annoying but id really appreciate some advice from some people who i respect the opinions of. i know these aren't what you'd classify directly as 'melodic hardcore' but they have melody and plenty of hardcore influences so deal with it. basically any bands that sound vaguely similar to the following are what im after right now:

comeback kid
this is hell
the letters organize
bars
the bronx

that kind of thing please.

EDIT: recommend me anything, so long as theres a definite melody. something i enjoy as much as this is hell's sundowning would be fucking amazing.

Um try If Hope Dies. I have no idea where to get their CD's though.. except for that great invention called Limwire. And if you like "melodic hardcore" you could try melodic death metal like At the Gates or As Hope Dies.

Crime in Stereo
Lifetime
Kid Dynamite
Shook Ones
Verse
Have Heart
With Honor
Ambitions
xLooking Forwardx

I know you probably listen to at least a few of those, but I thought I'd throw them in anyway.

Well, Disco just took every band I was going to post except Go It Alone.

EDIT: That isn't to say that I would have posted all of those bands, just 2 or 3.

CIV

Cheers for this guys, I listen to a large proportion of those already but there's a good few I don't so I'll follow up on those. Good stuff.

God thats irritating when the difference between two bands is a preposition. Its like Architect vs. Architects.

Crap, I was going post that. At least someone did.

They're not talking about hardcore punk, they're talking about "hardcore." It has little in common with its roots in the '80s.

I'd definitely not recommend Melodic Death as being anywhere similar to what he's looking for.
