Ok... So i was at a gig last night, nd someone took my pedals, during one of the breaks between our sets i think... Almost all of them, just took my whole pedalboard.

All i have left is an EQ pedal (i accidentally left it at home, thankfully) ... But this

Anyway, i need some help about what would be a good place to start... I only have enough money to buy one pedal as of now. I'm more of a Jazz and Jazz Fusion Player but i still play blues, funk, rock and metal on the side. Would a tubescreamer be a good idea?

(BTW, a Vox Wah or a Expression Factory on the way)

get a digitech Bad Monkey, same as a Tubescreamer fraction of the price, excellent quality. use the search box, most of the UGers who've tried one will back me up

It's a very heavy pedal. The knobs seem kind of out there. But that goes for almost every stomp box ever made really.

Oh ok, but it's digital right... I want analog...

Yes it is (I don't think Digitech can even spell 'analog') but it's solid digital. It's one of those tone things. If you're a huge stickler for tone, you'll just need a Maxton overdrive (Maxton owns the rights to the origional tubescreamer chip). If you're like me, and want decent tone that everyone in the crowd will like anyway, then go with the Bad Monkey.

I thought it was Maxon? Oh damn, solid digital. Then.... TS i think. I gig a lot and i don't want something low quality because a lot of my audience many times are fellow musicians.

^Try reading the manual sometimes. Maybe even do a bit of research, the thing is analog.

+1 the bad monkey is full analog.

I was interested in the Bad Monkey aswell, it's supposed to be great for the price but if you really want great tone i'd reccomend the Maxon OD9, same specs as the TS9 with just a bit more gain...a lot more expensive than the Bad Monkey(although cheaper than a TS9 i think) but you get what you pay for

I wouldnt be too keen to listen to you, calling a analog pedal digital and not knowing the name of MAXON od.. ya decent sound, why not a great sound? so go for the Bad monkey if you dont want a hole in your pocket.

It's actually quite fine with me as i gig quite a bit. I don't want to compromise. A lot of people say it's tone isn't so good? Is this true?

Jesus man, that's well harsh I feel for you.

I think the delay should come after that, just use it that touch to bulk your sound back out.

Yeah i have, actually. Sounds pretty good. It's just that with my bad experiences with digitech, i wouldn't want to trust that pedal with $150+ gigs...

If i found out who did this, i'd beat him to death with the pedalboard.
