My Squier P Bass's volume knob has been wigily for some time now. I just now tried to take it off....it would make a scratchy noise everytime i turned it. when i took it off....the thing just won't play...

Sounds like a cord or two got disconnected in your electronics, it's just a matter of opening it up, seeing what came off and putting it back on.

So get a soldering iron and reconnect it. If you can't solder then just get someone to repair it. Guitar store nearby?

Yeah soldering is easy to do, and someone you know is bound to have a soldering iron somewhere
