I've been playing guitar for the past few months trying to get into the habit of playing the bottom E string with my thumb. So, just now after I stopped playing, every time I move it, my knuckle feels like its about to crack, but then doesn't, and it really is uncomfortable, like typing right now. So, is this like my thumb growing? Or is it from the position I'm playing guitar? Maybe a combination? Has anyone else had this?

The same thing happens when I try to play something like this, but it feels like that on my left hand. Quite annoying.

Edit: I meant my pointer and middle finger.

That happens to my pinky sometimes, the knuckle almost feels like it's locking up. So far, it hasn't fallen off or started rotting.
