theyre pretty generic, they play generic pop rock and are pretty mediocre at it, im not a chiristian, but i dont hold that against them, they are just really bland.

My youth band plays a lot of David Crowder songs.

Personally, I love em.

They are really energetic, and just fun to play.

I think they are a good positive christian band.

Don't know them, but Todd Agnew has a pretty kickin' voice, and Jars of Clay rocks.

EDIT: Also, it is hard for me to get into christian rock, because it seems like they all play the same songs over and over again and it takes no talent. It seems like they rarely write their own stuff.

EDIT2: is david crowden the guy from D.C. Talk, because they're pretty good.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

Crowder has a sweet singing style...plus, he's actually pretty damn funny. He's written a couple of books that are really good, a far cry from the normal genre of "convert or burn". Everybody Wants to go to Heaven, But Nobody Wants to Die, or: The Eschatology of Bluegrass is one of my favorite books.

If you listen to the A Collision album, there's a lot of really good music on there that's actually (surprise!) well written, and not cheesy/contrived.

why put this thread about D.C. here...this is the pit...dear threadstarter

There isn't a "christian rock" forum, so this thread is fine just where it is.

This could at least go in the Bands & Artists forum.

crowder is completely random on a collision...a phone convo leading into a song...or like his intros and interludes ....all of it....it just fits together soooo smoothly

For serious. Go listen to A Collision. The buildup in "A Conversation" is one of my favorite pieces of music ever composed. If you don't wanna buy it, go pirate it. Just listen to that song. It's fantastic. Also, "You are my Joy" is quite powerful. Especially live.

thats the CD i listened to actually, one of my christian friends recomended it after hearing me talk about how bland christian rock tends to be, it was certainly better than most christian rock ive heard, but still nothing spectacular.

Did someone say Christian rock?

~atw~ Here's my Christian band. We're in the middle of reinventing ourselves, but here's some of our stuff.

Sorry for the shameless promo. Anywho, I think Crowder's pretty inventive, and lots of fun to play. To be honest, I'm more of an Underoath or Anberlin kinda guy myself. Jeremy Camp, also. Great stuff.

Actually, I just uploaded a live version of You are my Joy (from Passion 06 I think). Of course, the recording doesn't actually capture the full feeling that you get from being at a live show, but then again, it's the same way with any live recording.
