randomly my amp started making a knocking sound really and hard and wouldnt stop until i put it on standby and then it stopped and later did it again. what oculd this be?
mine did that right before the tubes completely burned out, so check the tubes. If they are ok then take it to a shop and have them look at it.
ok thanks, damn that sucks i really hope that they arent goin out
you should hope thats the only thing wrong with it, since itll be cheaper and easier to replace them than to fix some weird wiring problem or something simmilar.
ya how much would it cost to completely retube it? with nice groove tubes.
uhh i havent had good experince with GTs, but what type of amp is it? how many and what type of tubes does it use? and also how long have the tubes been in there?
the amp is a carvin v3 and is a year old brand new. Umm if not groove tubes, what tubes are good for a crisp sound but also a nice heavy sound at the same time for lows. i think thre are like 12 tubes? in it
i prefer JJs or EHX tubes, heres a site that sells full retube kits for carvin V#s using JJ tubes https://ssl.eurotubes.com/cart/index.php?page=view_products&category_id=11&sub_category_id=117
woah that's cool only a 115.00 dollars to retube thats cool. Those are nice tubes sounds lik, those high gain 6l6's
but if youve only had the amp a year you might want to get it looked at under warranty, although changing the tubes might make it sound better anyway.
ya i'll get it checked out and change my tubes anyway because i've been wanting to change from stock tubes since i got it anyways
