Hey guy's. I own a squire stratocaster and after a band practice today, it took me a while to unscrew the wammy bar, when i did pieces of metal had "flaked" off, some were inside some on the floor, and now it looks like the bottom of the bar is melted, it wont fit, and some metal flakes are still inside the hole!

does anyone know what to do and what could have caused this?

I guess if you screwed it in too far it would of shredded the thread, causing metal flakes to come off, and the bottom to look distorted, but then again you wouldent of been able to use it if it was to far in.
That might be why though

yeah i think you tightened it way to much...

you could fix it by putting a new thread on the bar, but then i guess it'd be to loose
