Has anyone noticed the little in between guitar licks when scenes switch on friends? (You know that TV show...)
I think most of them sound quite cool... Anyone know who (s)he is? Or where I can get tabs :P?

Well, the theme song is played by the Rembrandts (if that's how it's spelt) and is called "I'll be there for you", but they're not the ones playing the inter-scene licks.

It's just some bluesy and major scale pop riffing. Try figuring them out yourself by ear.

Occasionally i hear a song on friends that i recognise, Once i heard Pearl Jam - Yellow ledbetter played in between a scene or what ever. And I'm pretty sure i heard part of an Eric Clapton song being played, So what i am getting at is, it might not always be something a guitarist makes up especially for friends. it is sometimes just part of a song already written.

That is the worst smiley i have ever seen. Or is it supposed to be a down's sydrome child laughing?

And i watch friends! although i just realized today that the later episodes are all corny and rarely actually funny. When chandler lived with joey it was actually a pretty funny show i thought.

I read somewhere that one of the more common inbetween scene riffs was based on Pavement's "Rattled By the Rush". I don't watch Friends, but I'm a huge Pavement fan, so I just picked that up somewhere.

You mean the bass riff on Senfield.
And yes. I believe there are tabs somewhere around here.

It goes something like be-do-du-do-du-do-du-do-doooo

Back in 2007 when this thread was made I might have cared.

Nope, probably not.
