Ok in Metallica's my friend of misery, theres a creepy part with Hammett playing with the bass....the notes just sort of fade in. It starts at 3:32...Is it a volume pedal? If so, can you recommend any good volume pedals at a bargain price?

P.s, i don't want one thats a wahwah aswell, ive already got my crybaby.

You could always learn to violin on your guitar. That being where you roll the volume up after striking a note to get a violin like sound.

volume swells, learn them, they sound cool when used is the right song. He uses the volume knob on the guitar, theres really good volume swells in the song somebody get me a docter by van halen.

heh, you obviously havent seen the cunning stunts dvd. from the looks of things he uses some sort of expression pedal.
