So I'm thinking about buying a ESP LTD EX400 or FX400 and I was wondering if it's completely necessary to buy the special hardcase? Is it impossible to fit it in a regular Rockbag?

I haven't tried it, but I'd imagine it'd be a bitch, especially with a generic hardcase or coffin case

Your best bet is going to end up being the special cases designed for them. You might be able to find some kind of gig bag big enough to fit it in if you're on a budget.

I have a Gator Hardcase that fits 7 different shapes... Explorer fits in there... But it's a lot of money for it really... My other guitarist has an explorer and a nice gigbag for it.. It fits well and is really padded.. I can't rememebr who it's made by though

All I know is that ti came with the guitar.
