bar chords f*** me up... i can never get all of the strings to sound. any ideas for help?

no not specifically barre chords... i can't even play a proper F major chord

I believe that NOBODY can really play barre chords. They just say they can!

squeeze like your hand is around your mother in law's neck. if you don't have a mother in law. squeeze like your hand is around your siblings neck after they broke your guitar.

Look man, just try to strengthen your hands. That is the real key to playing barre chords. Your thumb and index finger need to work really hard to do it for extended periods, but if you keep after it you'll get better.

Also kind of use the side of your index finger (the side that's flat not the one with the dints on the backside of your knuckles) to barre the strings. It's the only way you'll hit them all cleanly.

Other than that it's all practice.
