i want to get a fender jazz bass just like my pops but then i want this gibson bass..wat should i get or if you have any othe suggestions go ahead and post them ...also i have like a 300 dollar to a 700 dollar price range so help me out here

Out of Gibson and Fender, I'd say go with Fender, I don't know too much about basses, but those seem to be pretty popular.

a gibson for under 700 is almost impossible, epiphone yes, but no gibson. You can get a nice quality fender for under 700 for sure,

There are plenty of good Fender basses. Gibson's few ventures into the bass world have never been very well recieved. What Fender are you looking at? Which Gibson did you like the look of?
