Just wanted to know if any of you out there use flatwound strings, and if so what do you think of them?

good for jazz.
mellow, bends aren't as noticable, higher tention, no squeaks (from fingers or pick). not very good for metal. i didn't like them with rock either though.

My dad had flatwound strings on his guitar, I changed them when I took it over because I thought they were normal strings that had been really worn out.

The fact is, it's the internet. If there's a better reason for the internet besides porn, arguing and piracy, I haven't found it.
