i have my 12 string tuned to open G....and for some reason whenever i form the following chord...the fifth string sounds out of tune...and sounds extremely ugly

ive tried tuning while playing that chord to make it sound right...and that's worked, but then i strum while all strings are open and it sounds out of tune...this is driving me nuts...anyone know what i could do?

[ive tried new strings, it doesnt seem to make a difference]

Sounds like your intonation is off. Try googling it.

did you know the major scale on a piano, starting at whatever note (lets say E). you just go straight up the white keys without hitting a black one. and you got the major scale.

^^

You're right. Intonation is between octaves. If you play the open E string which you have perfectly tuned, but it is off tune when you fret an E note on that string at the 12th fret (for arguements sake), you have an intonation issue

Instead of using Valves, could I use Light Bulbs instead? If so, would the new energy saving ones be OK? Coz I do a lot of playing

I got my pick stuck inside my guitar . . . . how am I supposed to get it out?
