Hi. i found out the formula for 9th chords (1 - 3 - 5 - b7 - 9) and i wondered what the 9th note of a major scale would be. i also have problems with 11th and 13th chords because i dont know what the 11th note or the 13th note would be. can anybody help me here? thanks in advance.

Hey bud basically its the repeat of the scale an octave up

I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX X XI XII XIII
C D E F G A B C D E F G A

just start over with the scale...

Ex:

1...2...3....4...5...6...7....8/1
A...B..C#.D...E...F#.G#.. A

and then the 9th would be B, 11th-D, 13th-F#

its a major 9th up, or 14 semitones, or an octave + 2 semitones, or an octave plus a major second.

its the exact same thing as the major second but played an octave higher.

11th would be octave plus perfect fourth. 17 semitones

13th would be octave plus major 6th. 21 semitones.

so if you are using a C scale 9th would be the D one octave higher. 11th would be the F an octave higher. 13th would be the A an octave higher.
