Arch Enemy
Napalm Death

Can someone confirm these two? I'm really not sure...

Yes, Plenty.

Wow, if I was in a band with no original members I'd either change the name or quit. But maybe that's just me.

y does it matter, the originals are always the best
unless slash or steve vai joins

Guitarist Michael Amott formed Arch Enemy, and is still in there,

From Wiki, I believe Napalm has no original members,

No and no

Arch enemy isn't missing too many originals if I recall

Napalm Death has no originals on the same instruments, but their original guitarist plays drums now. (or other way around)

Oh. Thanks then.

Now I know.

wait is mayhem the band in which most of the members died/killed the others?

Isn't that the one where one of the guys killed the other because he wanted to show off how evil he was?

Correct, and one of the other members shot someone for wearing a white hoodie, it wasn't "evil" enough. Most of the band is dead or in prison, or is dead in prison.

Just checked Wikipedia about Opeth. The story is like this:

Guy named David Isberg had a band called Opeth. He invited Mikael Åkerfeldt to join as the new bass player. However, Isberg didn't tell the current bass player, or any of the other members of Opeth. So, they all quit, leaving just David and Mikael. They continued on with various line-ups, but eventually, Isberg quit in 1992.

Therefore, Opeth, one of UGs favourite bands, has no original members.

i think the record company for a bunch of abdns in the 60s like owned the names to the bands in their contracts so they just found other musicians and got them gigs under the names of famous bands and stuff

Jeez, that's a little arrogant.
Poor advice.

No, ND has absolutely no original members left. Even the two sides of Scum, their debut, don't have the same members, besides the drummer, who isn't even the original drummer.

Suicidal Tendencies only has 1 original member left (Mike Muir) although there's around 18 former members, you never know if he'll leave and the singer position will be changed as much as the others

I think Tower Of Power only have about 1 original member left. Still touring nowadays too, jeez.

I can't think of any bands with no original members. I don't really understand how they can keep the name, legally the name has to belong to someone.

Thin Lizzy still has Scott Gorham

Edit: Apologies, you were right. I was wrong.

The Misfits, if we're getting technical about it. Jerry Only wasn't the original bassist.

Mitch Harris has been Napalm's guitarist since the early 90's (actually, maybe even 1990, somewhere around there). Mick played drums on Scum, but he wasn't the original drummer.

I think Hasselhoff might be a bit of the odd one out there, being alive and all that.

Hardly. I don't even like them

They just seem to be very widely respected here on UG.

Does Skynard have any of the original members left? I seemed to be under the impression that they didn't.
