i'm playing a cover of the wind cries mary soon and i'd like some help on achieving the right tone. I'm using a 70's strat and a hot rod fender deluxe. thanks in advance.
you should be able to get the tone pretty easily with that setup. Use your neck pickup with the clean channel pretty loud. As far as levels go. I'm not sure. You'll probably want to roll back the treble a little bit.

roll back the tone too on the guitar

^thats bassically it, also if you live in england the new guitar techniques will help as it teaches you a few of hendrixs styles to incorpirate in to your own playing.
Just just nice and clean with the tone rolled back on the neck pickup. You've got to get the attack right throughout the song too.

Great song to learn though, good call
